New Zealand has a number of multi-day treks called Great Walks. They keep the environmental impact down in these fragile areas by limiting the number of people that can spend the night on the trails. We weren’t able to get permits this time around, but we still wanted a little taste of the experience. We did a day hike to this lake on one of the trails, and as soon as I saw it I knew I’d be back – next time with a permit!
I also knew I’d be jumping off that rock in the background! To coordinate action shots in places short on service, like this one, Quin and I used @goTenna bluetooth. –
